What We Do

And they devoted themselves
to the apostles teaching, fellowship,
to the breaking of bread and prayer.

-Acts 2:42

the apostles teaching…
ASM is committed to the teaching of God’s Word.  The Awakening, Sunday morning, is an in depth Bible study, split by age and gender and led by Godly men and women, which promotes questions and interaction among the group.  Checkpoint, Wednesday evening, gives students relevant and practical Biblical teaching, and charges students to live authentic lives for Christ in their homes, schools, and workplaces.
fellowship …
Fellowship (koinonia) is intended to be more than pizza and Playstation, though we do advocate those things. It is the unique oneness that is found within the trinity and among believers (John 17). The purpose of our retreats (summer camp, back to school, and disciple now) is to cultivate this oneness within our body.  We accomplish this through prayer, open confession and dialogue, as well as accountability and encouragement.  In the future we plan to develop small discipleship groups to foster even greater koinonia.
the breaking of bread…
As often as we come together, students will hear the gospel.  We celebrate the free gift of salvation which is solely accessed through Jesus’ breaking his body and spilling his blood for the forgiveness of sins.
and prayer…
Prayer is the lifeblood for any and all success this ministry achieves.  The Student Pastor, Bible Study leaders, parents, and other students pray regularly for the ministry and for individual students by name.  Further, prayer will be a central focus of the coming discipleship groups.

Checkpoint happens every Wednesday night from 6:15-8.  It is a time of worship, fellowship, testimony, teaching of God’s word, and prayer.

Fall retreat helps students refocus their lives on the Lord in the midst of the school year, and to encourages them to press on and finish the year strong for the Lord.

Extreme Night is an outreach program through Checkpoint, consisting of crazy games and lots of junk food.  Our purpose is to build a relaxed and inviting atmosphere where students can hear the gospel and  get plugged into checkpoint

A weekend of Bible study, missions, and fellowship, that intentionally trains students on how to be light in their various circles of influence.

The Awakening is a time of corporate worship, Bible study and prayer on Sunday morning starting at 9:15.

Camp is one week during the summer intended to bring the gospel to unbelievers and to deepen and unify Christian students.

Mission Jerusalem is an annual, multi-church, mission trip to our own community, where our students are the hands and feet of Jesus. Through ministry projects, missions training, and evangelistic blockparties, students are equipped and sent out to meet the physical and spiritual needs of their neighbors.
